This #TeamSEMOTuesday spotlight is Peggy Evans! Peggy has been working for Team SEMO for twenty six years as the Purchasing/Warehouse Safety Supervisor. She has seen a lot of changes over the years, but one thing that will remain constant is her enjoyment of her coworkers. “Everyone is so driven to have the same end goal, and that is to help improve the lives of our members,” Peggy said. We are still building the fiber network for the Lilbourn Substation, but area members can stop by Kewanee to update phone apps, download movies or FaceTime grandchildren 24/7 (unless we are working on the network). The fiber-build includes hanging the messenger to the poles, lashing the fiber to the messenger, splicing the fiber, dropping the fiber outside to a home, farm or business and installing fiber inside to a home, farm or business. Our first #TeamSEMOTuesday spotlight is Josh Carmack! Josh is the System Technology Coordinator for SEMO Electric and GoSEMO Fiber. Josh has been a member of Team SEMO since October 2017. Some fun facts about Josh are that his favorite color is blue and he is terrified of heights. Josh’s favorite part about working for SEMO Electric and GoSEMO Fiber is that he is able to support his coworkers which allows them to support the Member-Owners. Another step to bring fiber-fast Internet to SEMO Electric Cooperative member-owners served by the Kelly and Vanduser substations!  Pads were poured for the fiber huts. The huts should arrive in late May. Once installed, Team SEMO will install necessary electronic equipment inside the fiber huts to connect areas to the GoSEMO fiber ring. During the next three to four months, fiber construction crews will install nearly 350 miles of fiber to build-out the fiber network for Kelly and Vanduser.
